|Collection Technical Notes||
These tape are dubs, made c. 1962, of (4) tapes lent to the Language Laboratory by McDavid. McDavid's copies were dubbed, in turn. from the original recordings made on silver wire probably at the University of Kentucky (cf. Maurer's "Criminal Argots" tape). Information on the tapes themselves places the time of recording between 1960 and 1962. The whereabouts of the dubs of Tapes 3 & 4 are unknown. WAVE files are now converted to MP3s.
