Collection Descriptive Notes:
Norman McQuown voices both the Spanish and the Nahuatl words and phrases from R.H. Barlow and Stanley S. Newman’s El Náhuatl de Milpa Alta. Selected sections (A, B, C and D) of Units I-VIII. JJT has assigned the dialect spoken here to Central Nahuatl (=nhn).
Collection Technical Notes:
These recordings were made in the Old Lab in 1955 (according to McQuown’s notes), beginning with the first recording on 6 July 1955. The notes in light-blue ink on the back of the boxes were made by Donald H. Ledin, but his connection with the recordings is not clear. Note: the language on the tapes is called "Astec" [sic]. WAVE files are now converted to MP3s.
