Cassettes are the copies donated to the LLA by Robert Dankoff (autumn 1983?). Note: the LA also has a set of “special copy masters” (TRK 4.1-.8 (SCM)) made from these masters; JJT, rec. eng., autumn 1983.
Tapes consist of the publisher’s tapes, donated to the LLA by R.L. Chambers; wound off from the original seven-inch reels onto hubs by JJT in Dec. 1979.
Track One: twenty-two cuts with an assortment of flute melodies along with Kurdish and Turkish folk songs, etc.; Track Two: Veysel sings Anatolian folk ballads (in Turkish).
Collection Technical Notes:
Tape is apparently a dub done at the LLA in the 1960s from an (unidentified) phonograph record.
