Three or four native male speakers (including Manuel Andrade and S.N. Treviño) give: 1) a demonstration of Spanish vowels, consonants, and intonation and 2) illustrative readings of: Cetina’s “Madrigal”, Andrade’s “Sonata”, Marques de Santillana's "Moça", Lope de Vega's “Judit”,"Abenámar", etc.
Collection Technical Notes:
Phonograph records consist of 15 needle-cut aluminum discs of various sizes: 1) four 7-inch “Speak-O-Phone” discs; 2) one 8-inch “Fairchild Professional Record” disc; 3) two 8-inch discs of unknown make; and 4) eight 10-inch discs of unknown make. (Note that Disc 36 does not appear in this record as it is a French-language recording.) (Certain scratched-on notations suggest January of 1934 as a possible date.) Note: The code numbers on some discs in the form "18-xx" may identify particular speakers. (Clarence E.
