Terry Turner interviews various native speakers (male and female) in Brazil.
Collection Technical Notes:
Master is the copy made in the LLA from the off-dub (3 ¾ ips, 5” reel, 1-mil stock), made by the BBC from Turner’s documentary film on the Amazonian Indians. The WAVE files are converted to MP3s.
With Waud Kracke recording, an anonymous native speaker (male)--there is apparently just one--relates several mythical stories in the Tenharim ("Parintintin") language. (Location and date: Brazil, 1973)
Collection Technical Notes:
Tapes are dubs from the six cassettes lent to the Language Lab by Kracke in 1976. Despite the note written by JJT ("Texts awaited 1/7/77") no texts were ever received. The WAVE files are converted to MP3s.
