I have determined that this is almost certainly the field-recorded original. (I have also found that the recording on Side 2 is the beginning of the interview; I have now adjusted the tape to make the interview begin on Side One.) “Mr. Slaughter’s voice generally comes through well; but placement of mike & recording level make it impossible to hear Mrs S or FW’s questions [.]”--Raven McDavid’s notes on the back of the box.
