Collection Descriptive Notes
Eric Hamp and David Clement, using English, evoke Gaelic tokens from Lachie McDonald, the last fluent speaker of the dialect spoken on the island of St. Kilda.
Collection Technical Notes
It is not certain that these are the original field recordings donated to the LLA by Hamp on 17 March 1994; e.g.
on two of the recordings one hears remnants of previous recordings. Margot Hamp apparently operated the tape recorder. Note: The WAVE files are now converted to MP3s.
