Bengali: Shulpur dialect recordings; Spoken Bengali

Access:
Collection Descriptive Notes
An unnamed man speaking American English reads the English portions of the Spoken Bengali course, and Rosario (spelling uncertain) supplies the Bengali. The dialect is identified as "Shulpur, Dhaka District".
Collection Technical Notes
Tapes are copies of the original recordings (made at the behest of P.S. Ray?), which form part of a series of 17 recordings based on a Spoken Bengali course (identity not certain). Note: A note (written by JJT) found in a carton holding some of these tapes states: "These materials appear to be {classroom/lang. lab} copies of field recordings. There are two complete sets and one incomplete. JJT-2/8/80" [The extra copies have long since been discarded.] (From the P.S. Ray Collection) (Unreviewed) WAVE files are now converted to MP3s.
