Collection Descriptive Notes | This is evidently an address by a native speaker (male) of Tarascan, who is identified at the end of the recording (in both Spanish and English) as "one of the secretaries, teacher, Hilario Contreras Acha [sp.?], member of our Committee of the Tarascan Federation of Michoacan". |
Collection Technical Notes | This tape is apparently a dub made in the Old Lab before 1962 from an unidentified audio tape. (The voice heard at the beginning belongs to that of a technician who worked at the Old Lab, who introduces this recording with the words "Beginning a study of Tarascan".) Note: The tape stock appears to have been reused: there are faint voices heard in places, and a piece of unerased matter remains at the end of the recording. WAVE files are now converted to MP3s. |
