Collection Descriptive Notes
Friedrich (or another male speaker) is heard briefly in places on the tape prompting the native speaker. Speaking exclusively in Tarascan, the native consultant appears to give his name as Alberto Serrano Aguilar from San José de Gracia in the municipio of Tangancícuaro, which may be the locale of the recording. Serrano tells at least two stories.
Collection Technical Notes
Tape is almost certainly a copy of the original recording. Norman McQuown, whose handwriting appears exclusively on the back of the box, almost certainly did not do field work in Tarascan, so this suggests that this tape was copied for him (on 11/25/67?). No other data is available for this tape, and no text was supplied for it. WAVE file is converted to an MP3.
