Collection Descriptive Notes
Norman McQuown, speaking a Middle Western variety of American English, reads from a word list of 428 tokens: he reads each token three times, then repeats it three times "in context". He concludes by fluently reading a short text.
Collection Technical Notes
N.A. McQuown recorded these tapes in the Old Lab in 1955 from an unnamed text (possibly his own). The DMA has no copy of the recording script. The WAVE files are now converted to MP3s.
