Collection Descriptive Notes: 
James Lindholm and R. Paramasivam (with assistance from others) voice Lessons 1-25 without pauses; i.e, "for comprehension", almost certainly from the text issued at Chicago in 1980, q.v.
Collection Technical Notes: 
Tape was recorded at the Language Laboratory studio in April 1989. Conversations 1-13 are edited; the rest are not. James Lindholm donated a copy of the revised text to the LLA on 9 July 1980. WAVE file is now converted to an MP3.

Native female speaker does a fluent (that is, unpaused) reading) of (selected sentences from?) Lessons 1-15 from an unknown early version of the text. (It is not known whether she is using the formal or spoken style of discourse.)
Collection Technical Notes: 
Tape forms part of the tape marked TAM 10.3 (M), comprising two tapes sent from the University of Wisconsin and combined into one. It is not known what relation this recording has to the "pilot" version (ID No. 2546) or in what dialect (formal or spoken) in which Shenbagam is reading. WAVE file is now converted to an MP3.

In three (filmed) interviews two men from Mexico--one from Mexico City (Medina), the other from Merida in the Yucatan (Vermont) converse in their respective Spanish dialects.
Collection Technical Notes: 
In all probability these audio recordings (synched with a clap-stick) are the sound tracks later added to the films(originally shot as silent). The films were made to provide study materials for McQuown's course in Interview Analysis. Note: useless duplicates coded as "SPAN 87.9", "SPAN 87.10" and "SPAN 87.11 SM" have been discarded.--JJT, 2/3/16.

Native male speaker reads words and sentences from an unidentified script. (The only clue as to the contents is the name Heston (for Wilma Louise Heston?) noted by B. Need (?) on slip of paper. [This is not the same speaker as the one in "Pashto [2003]" series.]
