It is uncertain whether the names used in the dialogues are real or fictitious. Master [7.5 ips, half-track] was (apparently) dubbed in Nov. 1962 at the LLA from the Wilmac Language Record, DLG-5001, lent to the LLA; reboxed JJT 8/17/82.

Native speaker (female), using the "Brahmin" dialect, voices Lessons 1-20 from the 1967 textbook, leaving spaces for student repetition. (She introduces each tape with the title, "Tamil Conversations".)
Collection Technical Notes: 
Tapes are the live recordings done at the Language Laboratory studio in Aug. 1967. It is highly probable that the 1967 Chicago text was the recording script. Note: The speaker uses "lesson" rather than "unit" on the tapes; i.e., JJT's labeling on the boxes is wrong. This series was given a further numbering as "Series 9". The above title and the coding of the digitized files adopts the latest style ("version for repetition", etc.) though no such labeling exists on either the tape or the box. WAVE files are now converted to MP3s.
