For the most part, an unnamed female interviewer, speaking Quechua, engages in spontaneous conversation with a variety of native speakers, male and female, young and old. Mannheim, also speaking Quechua, will on occasion conduct an interview, but usually acts as a participant. Note: Lacking adequate data, JJT has coded all the interviews as being of the Cusco dialect.
Collection Technical Notes: 
Tapes are dubs made in 1978-80 from field recordings (or dubs of the same)lent to the Language Laboratory by Mannheim. WAVE files are now converted to MP3s.

Collection Technical Notes: 
CDs are a set prepared for students at the U. of C. by the Centro de Estudios Latinoamericanos de la Universidad de Chicago. They were donated to the LLA by that department c. 2007, and they were almost certainly digitized in 2008 (so the meaning of the dates from 2010 is not clear). Note: JJT returned one set of the CDs (No. 7 is missing) to Miguel Huanca of Latin American Studies. Also note: The digital files that were prepared from the CDs were done at the sampling rate 44.1kHz and at the 16-bit depth. (Unreviewed) WAVE files are now converted to MP3s.

Foster interviewed a large number of native speakers (male and female) in the Distrito Federal and the State of Mexico in 1971.
Collection Technical Notes: 
Tapes are the 25 original field recordings on five-inch reels made by Foster in Mexico plus a 26th tape on a seven-inch reel (see: "Nahuatl field recordings from Morelos"). All the tapes were donated to the LLA in 1996. Note: The numbering of the tapes does not follow the order on the "Attachment to Lending Agreement..." of 1996. Also note: At present the 27th tape (made by Jay Sokolovsky) cannot be located. WAVE files are now converted to MP3s.
