This is redigitization of the tape (the previously done WAVE file could not be found). The tape was played on Track 3 of the TEAC A-3440 (quarter-track) tape recorder, and the output of the Track 3 jack was split. The two mono signals were patched separately into the CSA202 device, which was connected via a USB cable to the iMac running Audacity. Given the wide variation in the gain level throughout, JJT digitized the tape in five parts, regulated the level, and then combined all parts into a single file. No attempt was made to adjust the varying "speeds" evident on the recording. |
