Notes |
This is a redigitization of the tape, done to unravel which is Track 1 and which is Track 2. In addition, each track was recorded at a different speed. So, (the real) Track 1, recorded at 3.75 ips, was played at double speed (7.5 ips) on the TASCAM 42. The output of the Channel One jack was split, and the two mono signals were patched into the UCA202 device, which was connected via a USB cable to the iMac running Audacity. The (real) Track 2 was played at double speed (3.75 ips) on the TEAC X-1000R. The headphone jack was used for the output. A second splitter was plugged into the left channel of the first splitter, and the two mono signals were patched into the UFO202 device, which was connected via a USB cable to another iMac running Audacity. Subsequently, JJT: 1) halved the "speed" of both files, 2) melded the two files into one and 3) readjusted all gain levels to approach an average level. |
