Notes This may or may not be the original field recording. (The "clunky" switching transients indicate that Blair used a Magnemite tape recorder.) At the beginning of the tape Blair says, “Tape No. 26 in Maya, taken January 9th, 1959. The informant is Gonzalo Pech.” He does not mention the locale but "Piste" is assumed.
