Phonograph records are the original, field-recorded aluminum discs made by (or under the supervision of) M. Andrade c. 1933. (JJT put them into this box on 9/15/78.) The date of production is not entirely certain. Note: the digital files were not made directly from these discs but from tape dubs made in 1958 (q.v.). Special note (written on the sleeve by Andrade): "Side A is not reliable for constant speed - on account of low voltage in A battery. Side B is accurate for standard speed. (Battery was charged over night [sic]." |
