San Carlos Apache examples (D. Bartholomew, c. 1955)

Access:
Collection Descriptive Notes
Unnamed native male consultant pronounces words for the purposes of transcription by Bartholomew’s linguistics class.
Collection Technical Notes
These are almost certainly the live recordings made at the University of Chicago c. 1955. One male researcher is identified at one point as “Al” and the second female speaker as “Barbara”. All the recordings have a low-level ground hum throughout. (Note: It is not clear how many class sessions are represented here or what relation Tape 1 has to Tape 2; it is clear, however, that Track 2 of Tape 2 follows Track 1.) The WAVE files are now converted to MP3s.
