The Man-in-Nature Project; Tzeltal: Aguacatenango field recordings (1957)

Collection Descriptive Notes
Norman McQuown, using the 600-word vocabulary list, puts the Spanish tokens to two consultants (one male, one female), who supply the Tzeltal equivalents.
Collection Technical Notes
Tapes are the original field recordings, which form a subset of the Aguacatenango field recordings and were assigned Roman numerals "XV" through "XXII" by Norman McQuown. (In coding the WAVE files, JJT has retained the Roman numerals (in their Arabic form: 15, 16, and so on.) In 1976 Franklin McCabe Lee tight-wound these tapes to assure their preservation. WAVE files are now converted to MP3s.
