Tzeltal X-rays

Locations:
Collection Descriptive Notes
These are X-rays taken through the skull of a consultant while he pronounced certain Tzeltal and “Maya” phonemes (noted on the manuscript page tucked inside the box) [The precise dialect here is uncertain.]
Collection Technical Notes
This collection consists of 16 X-rays on safety film that were transferred in 1987 from the original set of negatives on (flammable) nitrate stock. The place and time of the experiment are unknown. (A note I found in the box mentions a “Dr. Narciso Souza [of] Merida Yucatan Mexico”.
