Norman Cutler reads the slates (in English) while Richard Pon Arul does a fluent reading (in the formal style) of all 55 lessons from the text, A Basic Tamil Reader and Grammar (Chicago, IL.: South Asia Language and Area Center, University of Chicago, 1980). The text can be found in Regenstein Library.
Collection Technical Notes
Tapes are studio recordings done at the LLA in Feb.-Mar. 1980. In order to create a series of recordings less than 30 minutes long apiece, the 55 lessons were divided into eight "tapes". A form for granting permission to make copies is on file. WAVE files are now converted to MP3s.
