Collection Descriptive Notes
Various native speakers (male and female) voice a selection from the 222 short texts chosen to represent the speech of various locales in the dialect regions of Norway. The "texts" vary a great deal by type: from utterances evoked from a native speaker to readings from a script. (The printed text may be found in Regenstein Library.)
Collection Technical Notes
Tapes are the recordings sent from Norway. (Writing in a foreign hand numbers these tapes 15-31, making them part of a larger series.) Special note: The sound quality of the tapes varies throughout from satisfactory to poor. The backs of all the boxes have been scanned, and the scans should be consulted for the detailed description of the contents of each tape. WAVE files are now converted to MP3s.
