Content description | Contents: Track 1: For the most part the track consists of (unnamed) male speakers putting words and phrases to a native speaker, who supplies the Didey. In the first instance the speaker (Chakravarti?) reads tokens in Oriya. In the second instance the same speaker (?) reads tokens in English, which are then translated into Oriya. Two songs are also included. Track 2: Various (unidentified) male native speakers: 1) sing a song, 2) read two narratives and 3) engage in (scripted?) conversations. |

Notes | Tape is a dub of "Track 4" (and of another track of the original recording). The date of production is conjectural. Note that tape has a two-part second track: 1) a Track 2 proper, beginning at the end of Track 1 (i.e., on Side Two) and running at 3.75 ips and 2) a short track running at 7.5 ips that begins at the beginning of Track 1 and runs parallel with it. (In other words the two parts are back-to-back.) Some of the passages on the recordings appear to be copied from other sources. |
