Notes Tape is the copy sent (at the behest of Norman McQuown) from CBC Learning Systems, Cat. No. 972L; wound off onto a hub by JJT on 10/16/74. The announcer says that the conversation was recorded in the Communications Department of the University of California (no date given). Given Bateson's remark in the recording, the campus is the one at Santa Cruz. Note: In McQuown's shelf number "IMA" stands for "Interview Microanalysis"--the title of the course for which he apparently ordered this tape.
