Collection Descriptive Notes
A native Spanish speaker, Andrés Medina, reads the standard vocabulary list in Spanish and elicits the equivalents in Tzotzil [Huixtán dialect]. (Note: The voice heard in the background could be that of Norman McQuown; the initials "AMH" in the "Roster" of consultants stand for Andres Medina Hernandez.)
Collection Technical Notes
These are the original field recordings, to which two number series were assigned: 1) Nos. 1-8 for the 1958 series and 2) Nos. I-VIII in the Yalcuc series as a whole. A Magnemite tape recorder was used for the recordings. The WAVE files are now converted to MP3s.
